Kerry E. Kimball, Ed.D.

Biographic Outline

Dr. Kerry E. Kimball is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Maine. He completed a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Maine. He then attended the University of Maine at Orono and completed an Ed.D. in Counselor Education. Dr. Kimball has been in practice as a psychologist since 1986.

Dr. Kimball is the owner and founder of Southwestern Maine Clinical Associates PA. This is a private practice agency, which over the years has provided a range of mental health and substance abuse services in southern Maine. For the past fifteen years Dr. Kimball has maintained a contract with the Maine State Forensic Service providing a range of psychological evaluations and risk assessments to the criminal court. In addition He also has contracted with the civil court to provide risk assessments regarding child maltreatment and for the last five years and is a provider in the court's Child Abuse Evaluator's Program. He has provided education and training to the District Courts in Maine regarding such issues as risk assessment and the impact of mental illness on parenting. Dr. Kimball has taught on the graduate and undergraduate levels at both the University of Maine at Orono and the University of Southern Maine in Gorham. He currently provides services to the York County Sheriff's Department, The York County Jail, The Two Bridges Regional Correctional Facility and the Oxford County Sheriff's Department providing pre-employment screenings and fitness for duty evaluations. Dr. Kimball has a particular interest in Risk Assessment and Threat Assessment in relationship to the prediction of violence. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Maine Psychological Association. He has maintained privileges at Maine Medical Center in the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology.

A native Mainer and "Black Bear", Dr. Kimball and his wife have been married forty-one years have two grown sons and four grandchildren.
