Erin Skaff, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Biographic Outline

Dr. Skaff was born in Norfolk, VA, where her parents were both Army health care providers. Dr. Skaff grew up in New Orleans, LA and Lexington, KY, then returned to attend Tulane University, where she also received a Master's Degree in Public Health. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Florida School of Professional Psychology in Tampa, FL. Dr. Skaff had additional clinical doctoral training in Charlotte, NC and Memphis, TN, where she performed psychology services and trainings for the Memphis Police and Fire Departments, as well as for TN Task Force 1 post-911. She earned a post-doctoral psychology certificate in specialized Emergency Services and Crisis Intervention from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, Psychiatry Department. After her return back to LA in 2003, Dr. Skaff volunteered with state troopers to assist in crisis related trainings. She also taught in the Psychology Department of Tulane University. She developed and implemented a post-Katrina program, the Transitional Care Center (TCC) in Jefferson Parish, to further assist those in crisis and serves on the board of The Extra Mile (TEM) a non-profit statewide social services organization. Dr. Skaff is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the states of LA & FL and is currently completing a post-doctoral master's degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology for the future practice of Medical Psychology (Prescribing Psychology). She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Louisiana Psychological Association and Florida Psychological Association. Dr. Skaff has psychology practices in the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas.
